Joint statement between 17³Ô¹ÏÍø and Estyn in relation to non-maintained childcare settings
We issued a joint statement during the autumn term, outlining that we would not carry out joint inspections until at least the end of March 2021. We indicated that we would review the situation during the spring term.
Together, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø and Estyn have decided that the current suspension of joint inspections will continue until at least 31 August 2021. We will review the situation again during the summer term and consider the options for restarting the joint inspection programme in the future. We aim to give the sector at least 6 weeks’ notice before resuming routine joint inspections.
During the summer term we will liaise with a range of stakeholders to evaluate whether any adjustments are required to the joint-inspection framework and our arrangements in light of the pandemic.
